Chief Marketing Officer, Peachjar : San Francisco, CA
Cara Aley is the Chief Marketing Officer of Peachjar, a for-profit social venture working to positively impact the trajectory of children’s lives. In communities across the US, 11.3 million children are without supervision between the hours of 3 and 6 p.m. 83 percent of parents with a child in an afterschool program say these programs can help reduce the likelihood that kids will commit a crime, use drugs, or become a teen parent. Peachjar is helping by connecting parents with productive activities for their children to participate in during those 4000 of 5000 annual waking hours children spend outside of school.
Prior to Peachjar, Aley ran Operations for social venture Two Degrees, and was the Co-Founder/President/Chief Operating Officer of American MoJo, another for-profit social venture. Aley and her brothers, Tom and Darr, started American MoJo in 2010, with a drive to help single mothers in the US. Though not a mother herself, Aley was raised by a single mother and is familiar with the pitfalls and struggles that the role can often present to a mother and her children. As a result, Aley spent 3 years at American MoJo honing stitching, management, and life skills training programs to better enable American MoJo personnel in their pursuit of being the best mothers/ employees/ role models they can be, and enabling them to pursue the path they are most interested in. It was critical that American MoJo be a stepping stone for its employees – not just a job, but a new start and a new career path with a 360 degree support network. Prior to American MoJo, Aley brought integrated digital marketing strategies to customers like GSN, General Motors, Nike, Nestle, and AT&T. Aley attended Stanford University, majoring in English.
