Alexis Williams is the Communications Associate at Ascend at the Aspen Institute. She comes to the organization with experience in broadcast journalism and social justice advocacy.
Prior to joining Ascend, Alexis was a member of the Communications Team at the New York Civil Liberties Union, the state branch of the ACLU. She tracked the organization’s media coverage, copyedited public education materials and blog posts, and prepared weekly and monthly analytics reports on public engagement.
Previously, Alexis served as a production assistant on The 11th Hour with Brian Williams on MSNBC and as a freelance writer for VICE.com. She also reported celebrity news for Bustle and was a part of the ABC News Fellowship program.
Alexis received her B.A. in Journalism with minors in Spanish and Religion from Ohio Wesleyan University and her M.A. in Broadcast Journalism and Public Affairs from American University.
