Marissa Mahoney is a Program Associate at Ascend at the Aspen Institute, the hub for breakthrough ideas and collaborations that move children and their parents toward educational success and economic security.
Marissa graduated from Emory University in 2013 with joint graduate degrees in business (MBA) and theology (M.Div.). Prior to graduate school, she spent four years in investment banking and private equity real estate, working collaboratively on teams to structure deals and communicate effectively with investors, rating agencies, and other critical stakeholders. She has also worked as a social impact consultant to social entrepreneurs and non-profits, providing investment analysis and strategic planning services. The Richmond, Virginia native graduated from Howard University in 2005, with honors, attaining a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance.
