Meet Tiana C. McCoy, program manager for leadership convening design and operations with Ascend at the Aspen Institute. Tiana is dedicated to curating transformative convening experiences for the Ascend Fellowship, providing Fellows with the space and inspiration to reimagine their leadership. Within these spaces Fellows are able to focus on the creation and implementation of their action plans that amplify their visions for how children and families can thrive. Tiana is committed to shaping powerful, forward-thinking collaborations that she hopes will inspire a better future. 

Prior to joining Ascend in 2021, she worked as the operations coordinator for the College Excellence Program, also an Aspen Institute program. In this role she provided operational support across various projects. Prior to joining the Aspen Institute, she worked as the assistant director at a nonprofit located in Alexandria, Virginia. While in this role she worked to improve higher education access to students at Alexandria City High School by awarding college scholarships and providing college advising to graduating seniors. Throughout her career, Tiana has worked to improve the health and prosperity of young people and families by removing economic barriers and improving access to higher education for underrepresented communities.

Tiana holds a B.S. in justice studies with a minor in political science and an M.P.A with a concentration in nonprofit management, both from James Madison University. She resides in Brooklyn, New York with her husband and mini goldendoodle. In her free time, Tiana enjoys exploring new coffee shops and all the amazing restaurants and art galleries New York has to offer.
