South African musician, composer, and installation artist Neo Muyanga, who is an Aspen Africa Leadership Initiative Fellow, and Tina Meni, a distinguished South African soprano, transform sound into a living, breathing expression of memory, connection, and imagination. This performance brought to life songs created in protest in South Africa during Apartheid, but shared in the style of a love song – as well as an opera piece written by Neo and performed by Tina in celebration of South Africa’s history.
