Program Associate

Danielle Christenson is the program associate for the Postsecondary Success for Parents (PSP) Initiative for Ascend at the Aspen Institute. In her role, Danielle ensures the successful development and implementation of the PSP initiative to raise awareness of and share recommendations to better support undergraduate students who are parents.

Prior to joining Ascend in 2022, Danielle worked as a Policy & Planning Associate at God’s Love We Deliver in New York City, there, Danielle grew the work of the national Food is Medicine Coalition and Food is Medicine movement, advocated for city, state, and federal funding for the organization, and implemented systems to standardize and increase efficiency throughout the organization. 

Danielle is originally from the Greater Boston Area. She holds a Master of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from Bridgewater State University.

Favorite Part of my Role

The student parents that I work with everyday are the best part of my job. I get to see our mission in action firsthand through their work and experience.
