Elizabeth Everett has over twelve years of experience in the public policy space. In her current role, she is the chief lobbyist and oversees both the policy team and grassroots/advocacy team with the goal of ensuring all children in Nebraska have access to quality early childhood education. Prior to her position at First Five Nebraska, Elizabeth lived in Washington, D.C., and worked for Senator John McCain in both his personal office and on the Senate Armed Services Committee. In these roles, she worked on several pieces of legislation, including the annual National Defense Authorization Act, the Clay Hunt Suicide Prevention for American Veterans Act and the Veterans Access, Choice, and Accountability Act.
Elizabeth is very active in her community. She is Vice President of Civic Nebraska, a member of the Lincoln Community Foundation’s Mission Investment Committee, and a member of the Leadership Nebraska Advisory Council. She is also a graduate of Leadership Nebraska and the Great Plains Leadership Institute.
Elizabeth holds a B.A. in political science from Vanderbilt University and an M.B.A. with a concentration in global management and a certificate in responsible management from George Washington University.
Elizabeth and her husband, Rick, live in Lincoln with their two daughters.
