Kerry McKittrick is the Co-Director of the Harvard Project on Workforce, an interdisciplinary applied research project between the Harvard Kennedy School,
the Harvard Business School, and the Harvard Graduate School of Education. In this role, Kerry leads the Project’s policy, partnership, and research strategy, and she spearheads initiatives focused on building better education pathways to economic mobility. She has co-authored multiple papers focused on education, training, and career navigation, and she speaks regularly about issues at the intersection of education and work. Prior to joining the Project on Workforce, Kerry was a Senior Manager at Jobs for the Future, where she worked closely with the CEO and Chief of Staff to develop and oversee cross-organizational initiatives and partnerships. Before that, she served as a Senior Policy Advisor on education, workforce, civil rights, and child welfare policy to Congressman Jim Langevin, co-chair of the bipartisan Career and Technical Education and Foster Youth Caucuses. She led the passage of multiple career and technical education bills and amendments and secured millions of dollars for underserved populations, including youth in foster care in higher education. Kerry started her career in politics, serving as the successful campaign manager for Massachusetts State Representative Ken Gordon. She holds a bachelor’s degree in anthropology from Brown University and a master’s degree in education policy and analysis from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, where she was distinguished as a Leadership in Education Fellow.
