Lindsay Abell is administrative assistant for Ascend at the Aspen Institute. In her role, Lindsay specifically supports 3 of Ascend’s Directors – Lori Severens, Sarah Haight, and Shilpi Niyogi. She joined the Ascend team with 20 years of support experience in the advocacy/non-profit world, including 18 years with the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 25 Marine Division. During her time with IUOE Local 25, Lindsay supported the executive team in an administrative capacity while also providing strategic planning, member outreach and company liaison assistance.
Coming from a working-class family herself, combined with her professional background of advocating for workers’ rights, Lindsay provides a “boots-on-the-ground” perspective to Ascend’s work of moving families towards economic security and intergenerational success and health.
