Pascual Maestas grew up all over the world, but has deep, generational roots in Taos, New Mexico. After graduation from Taos High School, he joined the US Navy and reached the rank of Yeoman Petty Officer Third Class before an honorable discharge and subsequent enrollment at the University of South Florida where he earned dual bachelor’s degrees in economics and international studies. Upon return to Taos, he worked in the non-profit sector, taught mathematics and economics at Taos High School, was elected as the youngest member to serve on the Town of Taos Council (2018-2022), was elected to the Taos Municipal School Board (2020-2024), and was elected as the youngest Mayor in Town of Taos history (2022-2026).
