Dr. Sarah Kuriakose serves as the Associate Commissioner in the Division of Integrated Community Services for Children and Families at the New York State Office of Mental Health. In that role, she oversees the NYS public mental health system for children and families. .
Sarah received her Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the Department of Counseling, Clinical, and School Psychology at UCSB, where she was a Regents Special Fellow. Dr. Kuriakose completed her training at Harvard Medical School, where she was a psychology intern at Boston Children’s Hospital (BCH) and a post-doctoral fellow at McLean Hospital. Her clinical work has focused on dually diagnosed populations, including individuals with psychiatric challenges and co-occurring developmental disabilities, co-occurring substance use, and co-occurring medical needs. Her research has focused on expanding the capacity of generalist settings to serve populations with specialized needs. Her policy work has focused on centering youth and family voice in co-designing public systems and on the incorporation of evidence-based assessment and treatment into public mental health. .
