Dr. Sarah Kuriakose is the Director of the Division of Crisis Services at the New York State Office of Mental Health, where she helps lead efforts to strengthen mental health crisis response and support services for individuals, children, and families across New York State.
Sarah received her Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the Department of Counseling, Clinical, and School Psychology at UCSB, where she was a Regents Special Fellow. She completed her training at Harvard Medical School, where she was a psychology intern at Boston Children’s Hospital and a post-doctoral fellow at McLean Hospital.
Her clinical work has focused on dually diagnosed populations, including individuals with psychiatric challenges and co-occurring developmental disabilities, substance use, and medical needs. Her research has focused on expanding the capacity of generalist settings to serve populations with specialized needs. Her policy work has centered on youth and family voice in co-designing public systems and incorporating evidence-based assessment and treatment into public mental health.
