Tanzania Williams

Intern – Network & Outreach, Field-Building, and Family Prosperity

Tanzania A. Williams was an intern for Network and Outreach, Field-Building, and the Family Prosperity initiative for Ascend at The Aspen Institute.

Before joining Ascend, Tanzania worked at many places that she feels has made her into the individual she is today. From being a cashier at Little Caesar’s, Taco Bell, Chick-fil-A, and Walmart, an intern for the International African American Museum in Charleston, S.C., a new student orientation leader for Howard University, a customer service agent for Warner Media, and a hostess/waitress for a D.C. restaurant – she has encountered people from all walks of life. As a result of these experiences, and many more, her life goal now is to create and help foster generational wealth (financially, mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and physically) for her family and within historically underserved and marginalized communities. In addition to that, she intends for her life to add to the fight to eradicate inequality globally.

Tanzania graduated from Howard University, where she earned a B.S. in Psychology. Her hobbies and passion projects include painting, reading, writing, and walking to stay healthy.
