Clinton Boyd, Jr.
Dr. Clinton Boyd, Jr. stepped into the role of researcher at Chapin Hall at the University of Chicago in 2021, bringing a wealth of lived and academic experience to the organization. At the same time, Dr. Boyd became the Executive Director of Fathers, Families, & Healthy Communities.
A scholar-practitioner who lives by his life motto: “Speak the truth even when it is bitter,” Clinton has co-authored numerous articles, book chapters, and policy reports showcasing his work with Black fathers. His community engagement spans from research and teaching as a professor to program design and implementation, as well as delivering keynote speeches on racial justice.
Clinton earned a Bachelor of Arts from Concordia University Chicago, Master of Arts from DePaul University, and Ph.D. from Georgia State University. He also completed postdoctoral training at Duke University.
At his core, Dr. Boyd passionately believes in recognizing Black fathers as invaluable assets to their children, families, and communities. This belief is exemplified in his own life, where he cherishes his role as the father of two children.
