Lucy Marcil, MD, MPH is a pediatrician and social entrepreneur has pioneered national innovations addressing economic strain and inequities to improve maternal and child health. She is co-founder and Executive Director, StreetCred at Boston Medical Center, which delivers a bundle of evidence-based economic resources and tools to families during prenatal and well-child care (>2000 families served, >$8.9M economic resources accessed). She also founded and is Executive Director, Health by Wealth Collective (HxWC), a technical support and training hub growing a national movement integrating economic mobility into health care. HxWC has 44 members in 14 states and DC (20,000 families, $35 million returned). As a 2023-2024 Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Health Policy Fellow, she worked on maternal and child health and social policy for the Democratic Whip, Rep. Katherine Clark, US House of Representatives. She serves on the Committee for Federal Government Affairs for the American Academy of Pediatrics and is an associate professor of pediatrics at Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine. She completed her MD at the University of Pennsylvania, MPH at Johns Hopkins School of Public Health, and pediatrics training at the Boston Combined Residency Program (Harvard University, Boston University). For her work, Dr. Marcil has been recognized with the American Academy of Pediatrics Anne E. Dyson Child Advocacy Award and has been named TED Fellow.
