Greg Taylor is the Executive Director of The Tides Foundation, where he leads efforts to advance social change by supporting organizations and movements working toward equity, justice, and community impact. In this role, he brings deep experience in philanthropy, grantmaking, and cross-sector partnership to help strengthen support for communities across the country.
Prior to joining The Tides Foundation, Greg served as Executive Director of the NBA Foundation, where he oversaw grantmaking to national and local organizations focused on skills training, mentorship, coaching, and pipeline development. Working closely with the NBA Foundation Board of Directors, program officers, the National Basketball Players Association, and all 30 NBA teams, he helped build impactful partnerships in NBA markets and communities across the United States and Canada.
Previously, Greg served as Senior Vice President of Player Development for the NBA, leading initiatives that supported players’ personal, professional, and social development through programs focused on continuing education, financial management, mental health, and wellness. Earlier in his career, he was President and CEO of the Foundation for Newark’s Future and Vice President of Programs at the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, where he led economic, education, and youth development initiatives supporting youth and families of color.
